Members of ICEA have direct access for professional development for all staff levels. Not enough money in the budget to attend conferences? ICEA sets funds aside annually to assist our members with attending statewide and national events by securing ICEA scholarships. At the winter conference, peers recognize outstanding organizations and chamber execs through the annual awards luncheon. The conferences bring a special time for small group connections. One small group started in 2003 is the Veterans Group, comprised of senior level execs with a minimum of 10 years experience in the profession. Members who regularly attend ICEA-sponsored events are given a wealth of resources to make leading the chamber much easier.
However, when scheduling conflicts prohibit conference attendance, ICEA members still have resources available when you need through accessing the on-line resource library. This library contains valuable sample documents, policies/procedures, non-dues generating ideas, and management templates. ICEA also offers peer-to-peer counseling/mentoring services. With the goal of strengthening your chamber's mission, governance, management and impact, ICEA also provides customized facilitation sessions in the following areas: Strategic Planning aimed at increasing your chamber's relevancy and impact over the next 2-5 years; Board Governance to strenghen your board's effectiveness as policy makers of your chamber; and CEO/Executive Director Transition Planning for chambers facing the challenge of searching for a new chief executive. Although these sessions are available to all chambers, the fees for those that are a member of ICEA are considerably less.
